I've been playing with beer based ice creams for a few years now, my first attempt was Double Chocolate Cherry Stout Ice Cream back in 2007. Making beer ice cream is pretty simple using stout beers, so this one was an interesting challenge as i decided to use Cameron's Cream Ale. After a few tries and a fair amount of experiments that went down the sink, I Think I've got a winner here. Recipe after the jump.
Now that the spring season is upon us, I'm consuming more green things, as they are local, fresh and plentiful. A few of my favorite greens to eat are fiddle heads, grilled asparagus and brussel sprouts. We all know how great green veggies can be with a little butter, garlic and pepper, so why not kick things up a notch and make a sauce for them to swim in?  Use that side burner on your Q if you have it! Oh.. and in case you were wondering, the "Dragon" part of this recipe come from  the Tarragon, which is sometimes called Dragon-wort.  Recipe after the Jump

Now that spring is finally upon us in Ontario, make sure you are hunting for local produce at your local markets. I picked up some local asparagus this week and boy was is awesome on the grill. Hit the link to find where and when your local farmers markets are.  I made a grilled version of this Recipe

Don't get me wrong... I love my bbq, but after a few days of heavy drinking and nothing but meat, I get a hankering for a man size salad. Don't worry though this salad does get the grill treatment with chicken and corn. Recipe after the jump.

There's nothing more delicious than grilled watermelon and pineapple. Serve with your favorite ice cream, or get fancy schmancy and put on a nice long plate and drizzle with 30 year old balsamic, or your favorite red wine reduction.

I bought my first ice cream machine this weekend.. decided to go "straight to pro" and not even bother trying to make basic ice cream my first time, and it worked! I used a variation of a custard recipe i've made before. my mind is still blown with that ice cream i invented, I don't think i'll ever buy store bought ice cream ever again. oh.. and yes stout is beer.. so this is beer ice cream.

Choc Thumb Icecream

Stumbled upon this recipe on another site OH MY GOD! they are soo delicious. he's my twist on them.

I seem to be on a chick pea kick these days.. real simple recipe after the jump. The lemon and mango balances out the bitterness of the rapini. If you have a hoppy India pale ale or wheat beer it makes a nice pairing. Notice the nice dinnerware/flatware ? GO DIXIE!
