The Device can serve up to four kinds of beer at once while fermenting a fifth! Amazing. Who knew that science could be so fun!
Don't get me wrong... I love my bbq, but after a few days of heavy drinking and nothing but meat, I get a hankering for a man size salad. Don't worry though this salad does get the grill treatment with chicken and corn. Recipe after the jump.
NOT!!! here's snapshot of our neighbors rig, totally trashed from the microburst wind we had .
What a great weekend! After we were hit by a 100mph winds, and a 10x20 tent bashing and trashing into our rig, all was good! Lots of bbq was consumed, lots of tasty beverages were also consumed. The team I helped out did pretty well, although we didn't place in the top 3 :( it's all good though as it was an amazing weekend. Gallery of photos here: http://bbqblog.ca/Merlin/

Ohhh My God... the guys at orange county apparently built this beast of a bbq/chopper.. I need to win the lottery so I can have them build one for me too!

Ok.. so i feel a bit bad giving my ProQ a not so favorable review recently. This smoker has a feature that none of my other ones have: Portability! I've taken is to the cottage 3 times, once in the back of a yaris... tiny tiny rental car. I even brought it to my office and cooking 15 racks of ribs in it! Here's a shot of me smoking away last weekend at a friends cottage, overlooking the water. I look kinda sleepy in this photo... must have been a long night of fun and early morning of smoke! Broil king was nice enough to send me a part to keep my grills from falling in the bbq... my poor Q has been used alot in the past few years, and I see that broil king are not the only ones with problems with warping.

Just thought I'd wine and cry a little here, my broil king is so warped all the grills are falling into it. Broil King said they were going to send me something called a casting boss extension, I hope it arrives soon... I miss eating burgers at 1am..
What a great idea, I cant tell you how many times i've broken wine glasses trying to carry to many at a time with a bottle or two of wine nudged under my arm.

I'll be attending the next two Ontario BBQ competitions, if you are a fan of bbq you really should check out the Canadian Barbecue Association's next 2 Sanctioned events. The first one is in Merlin, Ontario, It was moved at the last minute, and the CBA's website has not been update to show that it's not at the Tecumseh Corn Festival anymore. More info here at the bbqtalk.ca forums. Another team was gracious enough to let me compete as part of their team (The Q Crew), as I was not able to get my team together for this event.. This event is on August 25th & 26th, I'll post more info as it becomes available to me.
