SpatulaSpatulaSpatulaSpatula.. I love saying that word. Here's a gift for that special someone that burns the hell out of, and dries out everything they cook. I think I'll pick one up as well, just cause it's a cool gadget.

Made a great dinner last night, but for some reason I did not take a single photo of it. -- Spicy grilled eggplant, Grilled Zucchini, Cherry smoked sweet potatoes with pomegranate & coconut, and cherry soaked/smoked pork loin. Not forgetting the cherry beer bbq sauce.

Is BBQ Healthy?

| | Comments (0)

I somehow forgot to post this, Steven Raichlen - who is a serious barbecue aficionado, has a letter published on the slate regarding the health concerns (or lack thereof) of eating food on the Q. I love this guy, as he managed to convert his vegetarian wife and daughter to eating meat! -

Someone was really thinking here, what a great way to show up and be the life of any party. The "Port-O-Keg" holds pony size kegs, which you can usually get from smaller kraft breweries. I know what I'm bringing to Labour day this year!. No pumping either, this puppy come with a co2 system built right in.

This Q is just to cool for school. Weighing in at 10lbs, and smaller than a bread box. Here's what makes it a real super hero portable grill: 62,500 BTU! My big gas grill at home is only 58,000 BTU. Perfect for searing that steak to perfection.

Moving Soon!

Looks like I'm moving before Sept 1st. It's been a great couple of years in this house and has really inspired me to BBQ often. I even learned the Mount Everest of Q in this back yard: Brisket! Everyone cross their fingers that I can find a place that does not mind that I have 4 BBQs, and need a natural gas hookup in downtown Toronto.

Fire is Beautuful

| | Comments (0)

Sometimes we forget just how beautiful fire can be. Other than the primal instinct to cook over an open flame, fire was here as a form of entertainment long before television and the world wide web. Here's a shot taken of my chimney starter being prepped to feed my smoker in my backyard. - enjoy

Even dessert has to touch the BBQ. I am currently at the cottage, so i didn't make the cheesecake from scratch, it's grocery store.. but look how nice it looks when you served grilled pineapple and fresh strawberries.
